DAY 18 | NOVEMBER 8, 2011
Jaxon absolutely loved spending the afternoon with us in Stanley Park.  He smelled everything, and seemed fascinated with the smell of the ocean - something he’d never encountered before.  Our little poser pranced along the seawall, absolutely loving the freedom of exploring something new.  He usually hates being photographed and ends up looking completely stupid, but this picture is pretty cool.  He was so proud to be standing there all by himself:)  So cute!

DAY 17 | NOVEMBER 2, 2011
I had so much fun with Kelsey, Erika, Jean, and Sarika touring around Vancouver.  One of the best parts was Chinatown, where we stumbled upon this public garden.  It reminded me of China, where green spaces are valued and treasured.  I could have stayed there all day!  It even had a traditional stone tea table, where we took this photo.  Aren’t we all adorable?

DAY 16 | NOVEMBER 1, 2011
This photo makes me so happy:)  We found this tea shop in Chinatown, and lost track of time (as usual).  It reminded me of Wuhan, when Jean, Chris, and I would head to our tea shop or a tea market and completely forget what time of the day it was, or what year it was for that matter.  A tea shop is one of the most relaxing and calming places in the world, and it was definitely a highlight for me on our trip to Vancouver.  In fact, I’m so inspired that I would love to live in Chinatown someday… one can always dream :)

DAY 15 | OCTOBER 31, 2011
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE:)  Erika and I dressed up as 80’s rocker chicks this year, can you tell?  Haha I can’t believe that I still remember how to do bangs like this - in fact, hopefully I forget for another 20 years.  But it was fun;)  Jean dressed up as an old man, and Steve was… well… Steve (lazy butt didn’t even wear a costume!;).  It was sad though… less than 20 kids came to our house this year.  I’m guessing that the mall is becoming more popular.  But it was fun anyways… maybe next year we’ll do Wizard of Oz?!?!

Where is my cord?!?!

OCTOBER 27, 2011

I can’t find my camera cord anywhere!  I loaded some pictures a few days ago, then - POOF - my camera cord was gone.  I will resume this challenge as soon as I find it, I refuse to give up!  Haha even though I’m not exactly doing a photo a day like I had planned, I’ll get there if it take me two years!!!

DAY 14 | OCTOBER 23, 2011
Who would have thought to make a beautiful bouquet from parsley?!?!  I absolutely loved them though, they added so much to the table.  It just goes to show that something (or someone) that has one particular talent can also amaze and surprise.  Lesson learned!

Day 13 | October 20, 2011
I did not take this photo, but it is one that means a lot to me. I love my husband, and feel so blessed to be married to such a committed man! He is a kind, hard-working, living, and thoughtful man, and I thank God every day for him:) We’ve been married over two years now, and I look forward to many more:)

DAY 12 | OCTOBER 19, 2011
We are so incredibly blessed to live where we do.  We walk out of our door every morning to this view!  No one would know that we live in the city, or that downtown is 2 minutes away.  We have a mountain to climb, huge areas for our puppies to walk and run, a big fenced yard, and yet we are close to everything.  I thank God every day for our home, and pray that we can live there for a long time to come!

DAY 11 | OCTOBER 16, 2011
So, here I am, finally missing some days:(  But I have a good excuse - I promise!  I had a take-home exam, a midterm, and two essays to write, and then Jean and I went away for a weekend for a couples retreat.  I’m back, however, and I’m not giving up.  I’m not even giving myself credit for days missed;)
This is a photo from one of the most beautiful spots on earth - Mabel Lake, BC.  We spent a very short time there yesterday afternoon, and I hope that we can go back soon.  It’s incredibly beautiful, and the day/weather could not have been more perfect.  This photo is almost frame-worthy - but then, that just might be the point of taking all these photos:)

DAY 10 | OCTOBER 10, 2011
Jaxon has a favourite toy, and he’s a little obsessive about knowing where it is.  He doesn’t have to be touching it, he just has to know where it is.  I swear it has a homing beacon on it because he can leave it upstairs under a pile of clothes, then the next day beeline for that stack of clothes and instantly find his toy.  Either that, or he has the memory of an elephant.  Haha anyways, he loves to sleep with his toy too (when we don’t notice that and take it away from him) and this is just an example of him cuddling with his toy.  Too cute!

My goal is to post one photo a day. This photo will be something that has meant a lot to me during my day (a sunset, my puppies playing), something that has impacted me or that I'm grateful for (getting my car fixed, my school) or something that struck me as beautiful. The purpose of this endeavor is to encourage my love of photography while looking for the positive things in my days. Enjoy:)
